Dementia Friends

We gratefully received training this morning from our community Dementia Friends Champion Anne Kings.

We all visually recognise when someone requires a little help from us due to a physical difficulty, but it's not that easy to determine if someone needs a little extra help due to Dementia.

We've each learnt today to be able to recognise subtle signs that might mean someone is living with Dementia and therefore might need a little more time, guidance and as little stress and confusion as possible. We have understood and look forward to putting into practice some wonderful ideas and actually quite simple changes to the shop that will ensure we are a welcoming, safe, Dementia Friendly place to visit.
